The Steam Thumper is a weapon introduced on the Winter Games Update as part of the Steam Equipment.
Strategy
This Steam Thumper is just like an advanced counterpart of the Thumper. It has the same range, same reload speed of thumper. But it has better agility, a doubled clip size (2) and a fast fire rate (nearly that of the Golden Blunderbuss) However, the damage per shot is reduced. You cannot kill anyone with one single shot. Two shots will be able to terminate anyone with 40% health buff or lower (assuming they have bought both anti-explosive skills).
The active skill is wonderful! On using it, You will get speed boost, defense boost, health recovery speed boost and damage boost all in the same time. The speed boost is just like that of the The Raid Hulk. The defense boost is about 50% defense. All the boosts will last for 10 seconds and the active skills needs only 21 seconds to cool down. Therefore, making this gun a really overpowered gun.

===Run and Gun===
Due to its high damage and large blast radius, auto kill can happen frequently so it is strongly suggested that you wear the steam armor in the bundle or any equipment providing explosion reduction. Beware, You must have 40% health perks or more to survive two direct hits of the thumper if you are not using any kind of anti-explosive skill gears. The gun work better at mid or mid-close range. Always alert the active skill when it is ready. Dodge your enemy's bullets while getting close to them. It is fairly easy to do so because the skill will give you a wonderful speed boost along with a insane health recovery speed. When you get near, shoot at their feet. Do not fear auto kill,because your skill will give you extra defense boost and health recovery boost.
===Camping===
Not recommended. The curve make it really difficult to do long range kills but it works on small maps. Hide behind walls and corners and shoot on your enemy's body when seeing them run past. If you really want to camp in large maps, then Just find a high spot and shoot at your enemy's feet.

Advantages

- If you miss a shot,the other shot will still be possible to harm the target, making it easier to kill him after you reload or you can one shot kill an already injured player and save one bullet.
- Bullet curves and can make interesting kills.
- Can be buffed by Wasp Helmet by 25%
Disadvantages
- Not a one-shot kill weapon
- The curve makes it hard to hit targets from long range
- Requires 2-3clips to kill a black hero or an anti-explosive man while you need 4 clips to kill a red hero.
- Can be nerfed by Anti-Explosive gears.

- It is the third steam weapon in the game, after the heavy shatterer and toxic shotgun.
- Despite the fact that the appearance looks as if the projectile is promoted by steam, the features of the gun can not show that is a steamed thumper.
