The Proton Gun Gen.3 is an Energy Weapon added within the Ghostbusters New Kit, during the Ghostbusters 2016 Update.

Strategy[]

A Launcher that is a toned down variant of its older model, however still retaining more or less the same strategy and feel as it melts through enemies from afar, this time though with more accuracy and greater agility, allowing its user to mitigate the need to get in close with Shotguns and Heavy Weapons. Because it is an energy weapon it can more than make up for its damage, sadly with that said, it can also be nerfed to nullification; and due to its high cost, it may be more in tune to a Camping strategy.

While it boasts big game with its agility, this weapon cannot compete with powerful weapons of today, making its user rely on ambush tactics, massive buffs, and/or tanking themselves; use this weapon as you would any Rocket-based Launcher, stay away from close range catastrophes like Shotguns and Dual Weapons, and avoid marking locations with its ray of energy. Although players should take on a campers role, it can also be played well in a Run And Gun, so long as such a player is using powerful equipment, that will either atomize enemies, or defend them greatly.

Trivia[]

  • Interestingly enough, in comparison, the backpack for this weapon is smaller in size than the original Proton Gun, which might explain its faster agility. On the other hand, the "rod" for this weapon is bigger than the other one.
  • In the Movie it was featured in, this Pack is actually called the 'Mark I', it would be the cannon version for the creation of the Proton Pack; it features more or less the same technicalities as its original variant; though less refined; that's where its 'Mark II' design comes in, which is this worlds version of the classic Proton Pack.
    • The design of the respawnables iteration is pulled from the Mark II, having better accuracy, being even more lightweight, and covering loose circuits that were seen its Mark I.
  • Its name is in a nod to the previous generation of Ghostbusters, them being the 1984 Ghostbusters (1) & Extreme Ghostbusters (2).
