The Proton Gun is the 19th gun available; added during the 1.6.0 Update. While it's a standalone weapon, many players choose to purchase it with Egon; both of which have been discontinued as of the Easter Update of 2021.
Strategy[]
Coming from the Ghostbusters franchise, this weapon, while great against [Ghosts, is only decent against enemies of all types. Mimicking an Assault Rifle, this Launcher posses instant-hit projectiles, coupled nicely with its great range, accuracy, energy supply - decent agility, rate of fire, and reload speed; one thing that stands out is its damage, which is actually decent given all its strengths. Not without its losses, like many Golden & Old Age weapons, it can be largely ignored by moderate defense builds.
In addition to the mentioned positives of this gun, there are a set of weaknesses, for starters, its damage caps out in close ranges, making it highly prone to close combat attacks, and on top of that, from great distances, the rays have a tendency lose accuracy; despite that though, its best to go Camping with this gun. If opting for a Run And Gun, stand clear of oncoming Shotguns, Handguns, and Heavy Weapons.
