This is the review on the Dual Flare Guns.
I will be putting a review on the Flare Gun MK3 on Saturday and a review on the Fire Spitter on Sunday.
The Dual Flare Gun was not what I expected it to play like. First match was in Sandtown with the bots and I was testing just an average match. But the second match was Royal Gardens and when I tried to take Rocket Crush out from halfway across the map, the projectiles dipped, even though it autoaimed to him. The Dual Flare gun cost $6.99 USD, is a 1 shot - 1 kill and has a clip of 2 flares. The flares are 'explosive' to a certain extent; just like the Flare Gun MK2. If you shoot downwards at someone's feet, they will die. The damage that the Dual Flare Gun does is definitely more than the regular Flare Gun. In multiplayer, I have found myself 1 shotting lots of Black Hero armor users so I'd say the damage is 136% damage or above. It is important to note that like the Flare Gun, the Dual Flare Gun autoaims at mostly all ranges. Unlike the Flare Gun, the Dual Flare Gun will kill up to a certain distance normally. I am pretty sure that a kill is possible at long range, however, this is highly unlikely to succeed because the autoaim is very annoying. The Dual Flare gun is only useful up to a certain range, which is close / close-medium range. Any more range than that, you will find your flares hitting the ground before you can kill. This weapon works best on the Headquarter maps and Westside. Because of the angle of elevations and the close combat encounters, the Dual Flare Gun prove to be an excellent weapon. In other maps like Rocket, Snow Village, Gardens and even sometimes Sandtown, the Dual Flare Gun will not be hitting your target unless you play really strategically, something that will be hard to do because Sandtown isn't the map where its one side shooting at another side. The strategy for this weapon is definitely getting used to the Dual Flare Gun's ranges and not missing. If you miss 1 shot, you will only 1 shot left before the long reload. If you have the regular flare gun, I'd practice with that first. For strategy with the Dual Flare Gun and the single flare gun is definitely Run and Gun. You cannot afford to try to arc the flare like you can with the Flare Gun MK2. This weapon would be one of my top choices in going on an all offensive raid on the close range maps.
The final question is is this weapon worth it. For the price of $6.99, it is definitely. I'd like to say that the MK3 cost $9.99. The thing comes with the santa set, which is just 15% health and visual looks. I'd get the Dual Flares if you like to go offensive, and the MK3 if you like to go more of the defensive and support role.
